I cut out these triangles in May of 2011 while I was in France taking care of my mom who was very ill. I came back and put the triangle sets in a drawer.
I pulled them out last month, designed and pieced the quilt, and now I am quilting it.
Most of the center is done and it is going quickly. It's so busy that I'm not afraid to make a mistake. I've also experimented with a stencil which I've never done before.
I like that you're not afraid to make a mistake - we should have more of those kind of quilts!
ReplyDeleteit's a very striking quilt! Just beautiful! And very fall colors without being to holidayish:)
ReplyDeleteWow! I love these colors and your quilting looks amazing...
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, just like a kaleidoscope. This is a great quilt to experiment with new quilting designs. It would look great if you did something different in each hexagon!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ladies! I am pretty much putting a different design in each hexagon, but it is more for my practice than anything else. This quilt is very busy, and I really think most of the designs will become lost in the fabric. But hey, I am having fun, and I am practicing FMQ. Who knows, maybe when I wash it all the designs will magically reappear!
ReplyDeleteReally Beautiful! Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
